JOB OPENING: PROJECT MANAGER 


Position Summary

This is a great position for an energetic, detailed-oriented and passionate project manager. If you like working with a diverse clientele - for profit, non profit, small businesses and community based organizations to produce fabulous events and create great opportunities and resources for local small business merchants …then this is the job for you!

This position works directly on projects related to program development, community outreach and engagement, business attraction, and space activation. Significant people skills are a must as you will also be working on the ground with community members, residents, merchants, and key stakeholders on activities ranging from conceptualizing space activation, coordinating vendors for pop-up markets, applying for City permits, organizing and facilitating community meetings, and working on site during activations. We promise - no two days will be alike! The right candidate excels at project management, possesses incredible organizational skills, and is resourceful. He/She exhibits a curious mind, and an ability to ‘play well with others’, yet is able to work independently. Experience in project management, event management, and outreach desirable. This is a full-time, contract position; with a potential commitment of at least one year.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and execute creative outreach activities and community forums.

  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with partner organizations and community groups. Serve as a liaison between all parties.

  • Proactively identify and resolve workflow issues related to ongoing projects

  • Maintain and manage project work plans including time/task management and costs

  • Supervise research process and planning to ensure best practices and outcomes

  • Prepare reports and proposals and coordinate production of client deliverables

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate regular project meetings and updates

  • Administer community outreach communications and tools for stakeholder engagement and coordination

  • Exhibit good judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters

  • Complete administrative tasks as needed

Required Skills

  • Excellent computer software and database management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills (over the phone, via email and in person)

  • Superior writing and strong project management skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Savvy research skills – able to find elusive information, both on and off line in creative ways

  • Outstanding organizational work methodology

  • Previous experience working with local communities - preferred but not required

  • Bilingual Spanish speaker - preferred but not required

Desired schedule of engagement: Project based contracting position requiring a commitment of 32-40 hours per week. Depending on the project, you may be required to work after regular hours, including evenings and weekends. At least one year commitment.
